That's just another random bike name for some sort of Chinese (probably) bike. Unless you can give us some details about what's on it, all i can say is check out all the derestriction threads and see if any of the methods work on your bike, then give us the answer.

That's:

  • LCD button combinations
  • Programming lead
  • Pair of wires on the motor controller
  • Bridge on the controller's pcb.
  • Wheel magnet removal/relocation

After that, you have to make a derestrictor and wire it in:

Resurrecting this thread, finally had the controller out to play, any ideas? I suspect it might not even be restricted in the first place as it easily hits 20mph on a fresh charge

If you can go 20 mph sounds as if it is already unrestricted. In your pics though a bit fuzzy looks like the 2 single white wire black M/F smy connectors are the restriction, connect them and you will see how much slower it is.

Yeah I suspected that, when I created the thread I hadn't had the controller out but when I did I noticed those two were unplugged which I had read enough to know these may be the restriction method. My partner now owns a xiong ying ebay special and it seems hers is restricted as mine takes off even on low setting towing a trailer. When I got a gps speedo app it seemed to confirm this bike does 20 odd mph on high setting when full. Idk how accurate those are but do know it's quicker than hers and eats a charge quicker too (although this may be the trailer too). One thing though is it still cuts out after reaching a certain speed for each setting, does this mean it IS restricted or is the controller just sensing I'm outrunning the motors useful speed and shutting down? Still very new to e bikes but I think I got a rogue here haha

Also I'd say the youe hub motor is probs more than 250w as it handles hills far better than hers and that's where the most battery is sucked out. Ebikes are certainly a grey area it seems

Hi the different pedal assist levels will restrict the current/speed your highest setting by the sound of it is running derestricted. I'm currently running a 250w geared hub with the restriction wire disconnected it does about 21mph on a full charge and takes hills surprisingly well.
The grey area you refer to is because the motors are rated at their continuous output but can take more power for when under load. Your controller running 36v at max 14 amps would be about 504w.

The motor makes very little difference. the power comes from the controller. You have 36v and 14 amps, which is 504w from the battery or maybe 400w power at the wheel. The law allows that. There's actually no restriction on power. You have to compare your controller with your girlfriend's to see the difference.. You can also feel a difference in motors that have different maximum speeds. The higher the maximum speed, the lower the acceleration. That's nothing to do with the restricted speed. You have to run the motor derestricted to see the actual maximum speed.

If you get a sudden cut-off, you could still be restricted. If the motor just runs out of puff, you've reached the motor's maximum.

Ok thanks, so looks like it is unrestricted on the high setting from what i can gather. While I'm here, can anybody figure out what the other free wires are? I already know there is throttle input but what are the other 2?

You need to clarify what you mean!!!
Do you mean the other throttle wires or two other wired connectors.
If throttle wires; Gnd, 5v & Signal.
If connectors a clearer pic of the wiring & connectors.

Connectors. Will try get a better pic at some point. I suspect yellow + white connector is possibly for a headlight, as for the greyish lone bullet connector haven't a clue what that is

They won't be anything useful, so don't waste your time. yellow and white is normally lights at battery voltage. if you have an LED or LCD display, that connector can often be switched remotely, but the transistor that switches it is too small to allow any decent lights. The other wire could be high level brakes or something useless like that.
