Bikee has been cooking up their motor for a while and I believe they might have a good product:

This looks like a very good motor. Lots of copper.
A 48 V battery (maximum legal limit for us Europeans)
They are suggesting realistic ranges (depending on assist level)
and..
Smokey burnouts... We have all been waiting for that!
I hope they have asked the graphic designer for an interface designed for us older chicks and chaps...

Expensive at 1600€ but European quality

If I had the spare cash I would go for an early adopter kit.
