Any Advice about Tiger Bikes

Featured Replies

I am considering buying a new E bike. I use a Giant Suede prior to that I had a bike which has spent 11 months having a new front wheel fitted. Prior to that I had a sakura s200. the first two bikes I had a lot of issues with but they were very cheap bikes. the Giant has been great but I do have some Charger problems. I rather fancy a Wisper but dont have a local dealer (although I am working on it) and this concerns me due to previous problems! my local dealer has suggested tiger bikes and says he will have a Ontario for me to look at. Does anyone have any experience of these bikes? would really appreciate any opinions.:)
Im no expert at all.I found the Tiger Bikes site after Googling,Ive never heard of them. The Ontario is a step through about half the cost of a Wisper. If you really want a Wisper give Doug or Dave a call there,Im sure they'll sort you out some how

Very small battery Third bike down

It's actually quite a normal size 24 volt NiMh battery, but the D cells are mounted in four vertical columns of five cells each, making it very slim but quite tall. It's about as tall as the eZee NiMh battery, but that has six vertical columns of five cells to make up it's 36 volts, so increasing it's front to rear size by a D cell thickness, making it look much larger.

.

I'll re-phrase that...Very low ah capacity battery, particularly on a 24 volt system

Understood, yes it is.

Worse still, the 8.5 Ah cells currently on the market for Chinese manufacturers have a poor discharge rate according to one manufacturer. There's now no source of large capacity high discharge NiMh cells for manufacturers at prices acceptable to them. The outcome of the rush into lithium production.

.

Bigger than a Powacycle! I think that had an 8Ah NiMH, and gave good range. If the system is matched to the battery it can still give good results.

thanks for your replies I went and had a look at it today they had forgotten to charge the battery so I couldent try it but really didnt feel it warrented it Very light bike - aluminium frame very basic fittings didnt give me any desire to try it at all. apparantly they make bikes that are either very basic models or very high end and I think the ebikes follow the low end catagory !
