I have an e-bike from Ebco that uses the same motor/battery/system from TranzX. The American division of Raleigh and others used the same system on a number of their e-bikes, and those had throttles fitted although US bikes had an uprated 350w version of the M16 motor to allow 20mph assist as...
Take it to your Council tidy-tip/refuse collection point - they have the proper facilities for disposing of them properly. I don't know of any Council that won't accept them; they've taken everything from AA cells, through old Ni-Mh and Li-Ion tool batteries, and even a few old car/leisure...
Funnily enough, Corratec distribution has been handled by Ebco in the UK AFAIK since forever... maybe that's where they got the inspiration for their own "not-folding mid-drive e-bike" from? The OP's Life model has been around a good few years now: It just looks a little strange to me though...
We all think our own bikes look cool, don't we? Nobody is going to willingly buy a bike they think looks like a total dog unless they're really strapped for cash and it's all they can afford.
I'm still not seeing any attraction to Riding Rad either. My 20" Fiido is less than half the weight (17.5kg stripped, 19kg with rack and all the bits and bobs attached), and half the price. If it were made of pig-iron, it'd likely still weigh less.
I can't imagine cycling a 36kg bike with no gears and a legal 250 watt motor up a hill. The later Rad-Runner versions at least had gears (and suspension IIRC).
It's in the Bafang Technical manual @AGS linked in post #11... at least for the M500 (the M510 isn't shown). 6v @ 3W = 500mAh. That wouldn't light a candle.
Let's hope Mariobike extend their generosity to all that might end up blowing their controllers with free replacements, seeing they'd be...
The next question should be what is the combined current draw of both lights? Usually when I've seen controller-switched front and back lights, the rear light is just a token single LED, not an array.
The lights should say in the leaflet/manual, and then worth checking with Bafang what the...
Yes, I do, an M400. As I understand it, the supply provided by the controller in the motor doesn't provide enough current to power anything of substance - i.e. that's properly bright - hence why it's normally limited to just one light.
I did toy with the idea as you have done, but would have...
As I understand it from those that do these types of review, they don't just send it to him unsolicited... they ask him if he wants one to review, and there's no obligation to accept it or review it favourably. He should have asked the basic questions first - i.e. does it meet UK/EU regs -...
You seem to have missed @flecc's point entirely: As reported in the press last year (here for example), you WONT be able to buy any new Rad bikes in the UK or EU from this year (2024) as they've decided to withdraw entirely from these markets.
A member noted this as a problem for his Vengeance in a recent thread and advised how to correct it here: two other Vengeance owners also replied to say it solved their issues too, so it's easy to check and eliminate as a first step.
With that BMS, when the charger light first turns green there's (IIRC) still about 18 watts of energy flowing into the battery. Let it continue to charge for another hour or two, because that's where the cells balance properly, and any low cells should be brought up.
Do that again for maybe for...
Yes... because if the bike is pre-2019, it's a Phylion SF-06 battery with a smart BMS that puts it to sleep to save draining the cells. When that happens, what you're measuring is spurious surface voltage... You need to turn the battery on first before measuring the outermost two contacts for...
I would really like to know how it takes 8 hours to re-open a motorway. It's an hour maybe two at best...
Call an Ambulance or two
Take some photos for evidence
Chuck the bike in the back of a highway patrol for examination later
Tow off the HGV
Sweep off the road
Job done... the CCTV can be...
What tosh! One of my mid-motor e-bikes is 60Nm, the other 80Nm. The difference may seem notable on paper, but out-and-about in reality, I suspect because you're working through gears, that difference is minimal.
I suspect the street mid-drives (3 & 5) are CANbus. 5 is out of stock; some places that still have them are charging £300 over RRP, so it must be in demand. 3 is still available with less powerful Bafang mid-drive (£1800), but it's the full-fat 5 that interests me. Plenty of street 2's...
Many local Taxi companies have estate cars and/or minibuses/8-seater vans for groups that you can easily chuck a full-sized bike in... nearly all have some on their fleet (even in central London), and they generally don't cost more to use... you just need to ask for one.
I'm warming to...
It looks like a Yolin YL80 to me, download here.
Your Paselec bike manual on P6 says they've password protected it though: It may be that Paselec have had various options disabled, changed, or protected from the standard features described in the manual.
According to member @egroover here it'd seem it's only using the smart part to show battery %, so in theory you probably could change the battery to any 2-wire generic one... except IIRC the crossfire-e controller (Suntour) is potted in the battery dock.
