  1. Hi Yes it's just basic mechanics and low voltage electrics. However (there's always a however) The frame is a series of sealed tubes... once the seal is broken and then all the issues of water / condensation / rust both internally and at drill holes rear their ugly heads, so once the holes are made, then 'all' bare metal should of course be treated and grommets used where cables enter / exit. Hint... connecters should be placed strategically and a drain hole at a tubes lowest point So yes its easy to do but after you have done it once, its apparent why it hasn't caught on
  2. Or a hall sensor it self just behaving badly ?
  3. Yep.. the brake levers will be the wrong way round
  4. Nether did I, and continued with out one on scooters and motor bikes (as was the norm in the 60's) ... till 2 friends died, which kinda changed my mind. Life is short enough as it is, with out letting an accident make it even shorter.. and I'm sure Lawrence of Arabia would agree. Its freedom of choice though
  5. There is a rumor (just started now) that not only will it be a review but there will also a direct head to head comparison with real time graphs against a couple of 20" folder conversions. Will it be good enough ? http://www.actionmoviefreak.com/images/Matrix/matrix-hand-gesture.jpg
  6. Oooooooops.. sorry Lyn will do as soon as poss (lots of crap hit several fans at same time and I wasn't able to duck quick enough) will get back to reality very soon.:o
  7. Except of course for Facebook and kniting related forums
  8. Mrs Old_Dave has a 20" folder, she has trouble getting her leg over but after some experimentation we found a compromise
  9. And it all ends up as the RMS value (Root Mean Square) that's being applied.
  10. Maybe someone sits on the bike and pedals whilst going along the test track ?
  11. Ally angle is easy to work and will take up a lot less space
  12. But... lol In order to be 'legal' the bike would have to have a EN15194 certificate of compliance, now that's going to be the problem.
  13. Re the trip .. The full circumstances will I suppose eventually come to light. My take is that any property owner has a duty of care to protect the public that are lawfully (and for some strange reason unlawfully ) on their premises, I don't see any reason why a police officer shouldn't be able to rely upon the same duty of care that any member of the public is given. Soooooo If the police offer is being an **** then let them hang them self, other wise let them make a claim for their losses. Time will tell
  14. Good questions karotto A meaningful motor rating is normally the 'output' expressed in watts at a certain voltage (whilst amps are also a good thing, they are not used as a reference to power as are watts) The good news for us is that motors can be given extra voltage which will increase the speed of the motor...and you choose your controller to match your battery voltage (for a couple of good reasons) but that alone does not allow or necessarily mean extra power / watts, whats needed for that is extra amps / watts which can be achieved by either fitting a different controller that can supply a higher current, or by modifying the existing controller (soldering the shunt for example).. So extra pulling power / power output, requires allowing the motor to have more amps, extra speed requires more volts... put the two together and you get happiness. But happiness isn't free the cost is the risk of overheating (if your not careful in your modifications) and reduced miles per charge.
  15. The stresses and strains are going in the right direction, so I'm sure it will be fine. I was thinking of doing something similar but from square bar and use an existing rim brake mounting post as the top hanger / support. Beer mat doodle available on request
