Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

I don't know the details but apparently, it has to do with both wheels being stopped through handles... or something like that

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

Hi! I haven't yet found my ideal solution, but I wanted to share something I learned, that might be useful for others looking to electrify a coaster-brake bike. Apparently, in Spain, any e-bike must have brake handles. So regardless of the existing technology that could make it possible to...

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

That was a very useful description ; ) Indeed, I don't really know how riding an e-bike feels (I've tried some but just for short test rides, not for my day-to-day). It's good to hear your experience with exercising with an e-bike. In fact, my motivation for searching for punctual electric...

It's in storage in a different location from where I live, but I'll share pics when I have it with me!

For rear wheels, but then there's often an additional front wheel brake (a v-brake in my case).

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

Lots of ideas...! I have checked the coaster brake TSDZ2 and while I like the idea of using a product for what it is intended, the weight of only the motor appears to be 3.6 kg. I fear then that if I install this, plus the battery and other components, the total added weight will make me miss...

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

@peterjd My mechanic partner says I'd better get an e-bike instead of converting mine - maybe to avoid the extra work that seems to be piling up for him (special sensor etc)? ; ) @Tony1951 Agreed about other drivers when it comes to safety concerns. Especially in Barcelona where there's not a...

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

@Az. @Waspy thanks for your comments! I understand your concerns, but I do find my current setting safe (it's only exhausting with the climbs now ). I have the younger one in the front child seat (which is supposed to be placed as high as it is) and the older one on the luggage rack...

Thanks @saneagle for all your comments! The chain has been changed now, but yes, it was way too loose... Thanks for the tips anyway. I'm familiar with the Swytch kits (I should have mentioned that in my post) and they seem to tick some of the boxes of what I want, but unfortunately as per...

Thanks : ) I don't really have a budget in mind, what matters the most to me now is to find a solution that allows me to keep using and enjoying my current bike...

Help! Lightweight e-kit for coaster brake bike - alternate e-bike and 'normal' bike experience.

Hi there! I want to electrify my bike but I'm unsure what kits would be compatible. It is a Swedish bike, Monark brand, with a back pedal brake. I used it as my usual means of transportation when I lived in Malmö, and I transported my two children in it, in total they weight about 40kg (one 3...
