    Crank arm clearance

Hi Peter I have Shimano steps cranks on my Tongsheng. They have a narrower Q factor than the originals so they are not the answer. I don't think you will find any standard cranks with wider Q factor than your originals. If you got your frame as a scrapper why not find another one with a standard...

    BBS02 in FSR XC frame.

Has anyone on here fitted a BBS02 or TSDZ2 motor into a Specialized Fsr frame. The frame dates from about 2007 & has the straight downtube & standard BB. It measures about 18 inches to top of seat tube. The frame triangle is a bit tight but may just take an HL1 battery. I will have to try one...

    Bafang BBS02b 36volt to 48v conversion.

The battery case is HL1. Ideally I would like to stick with that, as I have two 36v bikes & it would be handy to be able to carry a spare for long rides. The 17.4 AH battery with 29e cells that Eclipse have in stock is in an HL3 case. I don't think you can fit 60 cells in an HL1. Apart from The...

    Bafang BBS02b 36volt to 48v conversion.

Thanks for that nealh, but there is some life left in the old battery. So I'd like to keep it & buy a new one. Steve.

    Bafang BBS02b 36volt to 48v conversion.

Thanks for that nealh. So you think that a 10s 5p with 10 amp cells is better than 10s 6p with 29e. It would certainly be lighter. Can you recommend a supplier. I tried eclipse but they are changing their supplier & no longer have 30q batteries...

    Bafang BBS02b 36volt to 48v conversion.

Hi. What do I need to upgrade BBS02 36v 500w with C961 display to 48volt or would it be worth replacing rather tired Samsung 29e cell 14.5 Ah battery with a 17.4 Ah one with 29e cells. I know that 29e cells are pretty low discharge but would the 10s6p supply more power than the 10s 5p I am using...

    TSDZ2 750w problems

Would discharging the battery to below 52 volts do the trick as a short term fix? I use four 35 watt 12 volt bulbs in series to discharge.

HL 1 36 volt battery advice needed.

I am looking for a good quality HL 1 36 volt battery, I was going to order one from Eclipse with 30q cells but they are out of stock. I wanted the HL1 because I have one on another bike so it would be handy to have two the same. Can you recommend a good UK or at least EU supplier. Has anyone...

    Whoosh Crank-Drive Tongsheng Kit review.

With the suspension bottomed out, the motor must be very low. I gave up on the idea of fitting a BBS into a stumpy because of this. Any bike with a modern bent downtube will have the same problem when ridden on rocks & roots. Steve.

    Battery advice wanted.

I emailed Eclipse to ask about HL1 battery on HL 3 carrier & vice versa. They replied promptly & politely that they are not switchable & also the charger leads are different. Steve.

    Battery advice wanted.

I have a Tong Sheng 36 volt 500watt motor in a Giant Revolt gravel bike. The battery is a Woosh HL 15 amp hour, which is nearly four years old, it still holds a reasonable charge. The maximum charge seems to be 41.6 volts. Charging has become rather strange. I left it on charge after a 15 mile...

Shimano Steps cranks on Tongsheng motor.

I have bought a pair of Steps crank arms, to replace the standard Tongsheng items which had a ridiculous Q factor of 212mm. they came with retaining bolts that tighten using a socket rather than an Allen key. Is there any reason why I can't use the original Allen bolts? I don't want to have to...

Motor cuts out after start up

Why would it only cut out once & then behave itself for the rest of the ride? Steve

Motor cuts out after start up

I have a Tongsheng motor powered by a Woosh 36v 15ah battery. When I turn on the display everything looks OK. I wait for the Spanner symbol to disappear the motor pulls away fine, but only for a short distance. Maybe 100 metres or so, the display goes blank & no power. I stop & turn back on &...
