    Help! My next project

Just looked up the GrinTech test instructions, I'll give it a go. This is what I got: R-Bla 4.3v constant W-Bla 5v constant Bla-Blu Bla-G Bla-yel All switching 5v-0v Couldn't get 03 error to come up whilst on the stand. Tried powering the wheel under a braking load but no error.

    Help! My next project

Thanks guys. System did work with some glitches that I was trying to get to the bottom of. The 03 error was new. Meanwhile the weathers a wasting and I'm without a reliable ride. So I've bitten the bullet and ordered an new 201 rpm motor, and 8 magnet pas sensor and a speed sensor. With this...

    Help! My next project

First thing I checked, 2nd was the plug at the controller end. I've taken a photo but I'm no photographer and my dumb phones no camera. But it's all the way in and I've also checked it for pins being bent or pushed out. Can't see any.

    Help! My next project

Been out again on what I thought was just going to be a short bimble around. Ended up having to be rescued AGAIN as the system through an 03 halls error. I'm thinking this is the result of heat damage, just not sure if it's in the motor or the controller. Don't know how to test the...

    Help! My next project

Finally got time for more messing fettling. I remembered that the original 12 magnet disc was still fitted to the inside of the granny ring. So I removed it in case it was affecting anything. Doesn't looked like it was. Trying a selection of P1 settings. 96, 128, 160. 128 gave the nearest...

    New bike

The problem with the brands that you mention is that you are locked into proprietry systems, a bit like apple. With Bosch even dealers are not capable of motor repairs and have to send the whole motor back to Bosch, leaving you without a bike for the duration. Have a look at Woosh bikes. These...

    More Seizures

An obvious electric motorbike and yet it has bicycle components. How is it allowed to be sold unregistered ? Most of the comments on Faceache are berating the rider for getting caught, that's the really worrying bit. We are in the realms of losing Policing by consent.

    Help! My next project

I do have a 48v Dillinger battery of unknown age. Guess I could temporarily strap it to the rack. I'll have to run my 36v battery down to below 48v cutoff first, so that I can reset the controller after testing.

    Help! My next project

Strange, I'm watching the F1 free practice sessions, seeing them set the car up for qualifying. Honestly they think they've got a complex balancing act, they should try this !:D:oops: Here's a thing. I'm running 25% lower voltage. So I'm going to try plus and minus 25% of the P1128 setting...

    Help! My next project

Went out shopping. Took a sat nav gps with me for speed registration. Brake switch now disconnected. P1=128 From start up, so system has just been turned on, mph display is zero until.........well I'm not quite sure what triggers it into action. Could be achieving cutoff speed but couldn't get...

    Help! My next project

I'm even considering buying some letter and number punches to mark the motor 250W and infill with white paint.

    Help! My next project

And this is the rabbit hole I went down before. The motor I have looks right. It's flange diameter is around 165mm. This makes it a few mil larger than my bottom gear cog and smaller than the 180mm disc on the other side. Nestled in there it doesn't attract attention. The only markings on it...

    Help! My next project

Well, that's the direction my thoughts are going in. Motor was originally bought for a 26" wheel recumbent. Seemed to work alright but the whole experience was so different I couldn't really tell what was going on. Ditched that project and thought, 'OK I'll use the kit to turn my bike into a...

    Help! My next project

Good info, thanks Neal. Motor only got midly warm. I'll ride tomorrow with the top off the controller box to feel what the controller does. P1 was at 128 as Topbikekit reckon the Q128 328 800w is 8:1. I'll try a bit higher to see what happens. That would be useful, thanks. Just disconnected...
